Sabrina Kones, PMHNP-BC, LCSW

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner & Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Sabrina grew up in Cypress, TX and moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas, earning a Master of Science in Social Work in 2004. Over the following 15 years, she practiced as a clinical social worker in emergency departments and psychiatric hospital settings, gaining firsthand insight into the mental health needs of the community — and a clear view of the provider shortage and treatment gaps driving unnecessary delays in care across Central Texas.

Motivated to help close those gaps, Sabrina returned to UT Austin and earned a Master of Science in Nursing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She was named an Integrated Behavior Health Scholar, focusing on collaborative care and healthcare equity, and was recognized for research on disparities in psychiatric hospital admissions. Her clinical foundation includes her work at Seton Shoal Creek Hospital, as Social Work Lead at the Dell Seton Psychiatric Emergency Department, and in crisis response to critical incidents including Hurricane Katrina.

As both a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Sabrina brings a unique perspective to assessment, therapeutic intervention, psychopharmacological management, and treatment planning. She strives to offer patients a non-judgmental, affirming space to explore their needs and find the most effective path to long-term wellbeing. In her free time, she enjoys music, fantasy football, cartoons, poetry, kayaking, and spending time with family, friends, and her dog who is a very good boy.
